About the Author
Ever since she was a child, Renee knew she wanted to be in business, she just didn't know which business. She remembers attending open houses with her mom on the weekends and thinking what a great job it must be to show off homes for a living. However the thought of becoming a real estate agent never crossed her mind after high school. Her true passion led her to careers in public relations, writing and marketing where she spent several years working in those fields. From 1985 until 1992, she worked as a local journalist covering everything from obituaries and sports stories to business features and politics, climbing the ranks in the news industry from a sports writer to assistant editor at various newspapers. During this time, she, with three friends and former newspaper colleagues, became co-owners and publishers of a small hometown newspaper.
