Your home is glowing like it belongs in a magazine. And now—drumroll, please—people are actually calling to see it! This is where the magic (and mild panic) begins. STEP 3: SHOWING YOUR HOME (a.k.a. "Clean Like the Queen Is Coming") So your phone rings, and someone’s asking about your house. This is exciting! It’s also your cue to quickly assess if they’re: A) A serious buyer B) A curious neighbor C) Someone looking for an excuse to leave their in-laws’ house Ask casual but revealing questions—“Have you been pre- approved?” or “Are you looking to buy soon?”—to see if they’re ready to dance or just browsing Zillow like the rest of us at midnight. Pro Tip: Speed Matters Buyers are fickle. Today, they love your house. Tomorrow, they fall in love with someone else’s island kitchen. If they want to see your place now, and you say, “Sure! How about next Thursday?”—congrats, you’ve just scheduled a showing they’ll never attend.
