About Steve Roake William, a US veteran, and his wife Vanessa purchased a home with Steve in 2016. With VA benefits, they were able to buy a home without any money down and actually got a check back at closing. Everything started out well but a few months later, Vanessa passed away. Steve lost contact with William but never stopped reaching out. Years later, he learned that William passed away at the age of 41 in 2022. The home they had lived in was in foreclosure and it was clear that they hadn't planned how to take care of their 3 children if something happened to them. Steve knew he had to do more for his clients to protect their families and so he also became a licensed life insurance producer so that what happened to Vanessa and William's children wouldn't happen to any of this other clients. Steve cares about his clients and strives to always provide them with more opportunities to grow personally and financially. This story perfectly sums up the kind of agent Steve is, and the type of agent he continuously strives to be for his clients. Steve learned early in his career that in order to be successful, he had to solve problems for people and the more problems he could solve the more successful he - and his clients - would be. Steve was raised in Oswego, IL with 2 siblings. As a child, Steve had aspirations of being a banker. Never in a million years did he think he'd stumble into the real estate industry, but you can’t always predict where or when you’ll discover what you’re meant to do in life. As the years went by, Steve worked his way from delivering newspapers in his neighborhood to high school math teacher, never wavering in his resolve to become the best version of himself with each career move.
